Free ChatGPT prompts for salon owners
Each prompt is written for a moment that comes up every week in a salon: the text about Saturday, the client who left without rebooking, the review that needs a reply. Paste one into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, fill in the brackets, and read the draft before anything goes out. Refunds, discounts and anything about a client's health stay your call.
Front desk and inquiries
- Answer a color correction price question. A reply to a color correction inquiry that explains how you price it and books a consultation, without quoting a number you have not seen.
- Answer a walk-in question from today's book. A quick reply to 'do you take walk-ins?' that offers only the gaps you really have today and says plainly which services need a booking.
- Answer a wedding party hair inquiry. A reply to a bride or planner asking about hair for the wedding party, with the questions you still need answered and a trial as the next step.
Bookings and no-shows
- Answer 'anything Saturday?' with real openings. A reply to the 'anything Saturday?' text that offers only openings long enough for the service they want, with the stylist they asked for.
- Fill a same-day cancellation from the waitlist. See who on your waitlist fits the gap a cancellation just left, and get one text for them that says the first to reply gets the time.
- Rebook a client who left without booking. A short, personal nudge for a client who left without their next appointment, timed to when their cut or color is due, not a blast.
Quotes and money
- Message a client after a no-show or late cancel. A message for a client who missed or cancelled late that states your policy, carries out your decision on the fee, and offers to rebook.
- Reply when a client questions their bill. A calm reply to a client who thinks their color cost more than expected, built from the ticket and the decision you already made.
Marketing and reviews
- Reply to a salon review, good or bad. A same-day reply to a new review in your voice: thanks that name the stylist for a good one, a calm invite to talk for a bad one.
- Fill slow weekdays with your regulars. A short text to regulars who are due for a cut or color soon, offering the open weekday times, with any offer left entirely to you.
Back office
- Build a retail reorder list from what sold. A reorder list for retail and back bar product, worked out from what sold and what is on the shelf, with slow sellers flagged for you.
- Turn scribbled color formulas into clean notes. Your stylists' quick color notes written up in one matching format for the client record, with anything missing marked instead of guessed.
The owner's desk
- See your rebook rate and empty chair hours. A short weekly read of how many clients left with their next appointment and which chair hours sat empty, with the math shown.
- Plan a new stylist's first week. A day-by-day first week for a new stylist or assistant, built from how your salon really runs, with what they should not do yet spelled out.
For any local business
The general prompts work for every trade: a one-week test, a playbook for what may go out alone, four numbers to count. For where the hours go in a salon, see AI for salons.
